This guide will provide you with step-by-step instructions on how to update an SSL certificate in WordPress. Before we begin, please note that depending on your hosting provider, the steps you need to take may vary. It is also important to note that updating the SSL certificate may take up to 2 hours, but the exact amount of time may vary depending on the hosting provider.
Step 1: Log in to your hosting control panel.
Step 2: From the main page, select the Security section.
Step 3: Click on the SSL/TLS Manager tab.
Step 4: Select the domain name for which you would like to update the SSL certificate.
Step 5: Click on the Generate, view, upload, or delete SSL certificates link.
Step 6: Click on the Generate a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) link.
Step 7: On the Generate a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) page, enter the required information and click on the Generate button.
Step 8: Copy the generated CSR and submit it to the external Certificate Authority (CA) to obtain the SSL certificate.
Step 9: Download the issued SSL certificate and Intermediate Certificate from the CA.
Step 10: Go back to the SSL/TLS Manager tab and select the domain name for which you need to upload the SSL certificate.
Step 11: Click on the Install an SSL Certificate and Setup the Domain link.
Step 12: On the Install an SSL Certificate page, select Certificate and Private Key from the Certificate Type drop-down menu.
Step 13: Paste the SSL certificate and Private key in the corresponding text areas.
Step 14: Paste the Intermediate Certificate in the Intermediate Certificate text area.
Step 15: Click on the Install Certificate button.
Once you have completed the steps above, your SSL certificate will be updated in WordPress.
