Summary
In this tutorial, we walked through the steps for creating a redirect in WordPress. Redirects can improve the user experience by making sure the user is directed to the correct page. To setup the redirect, we logged in to the WordPress admin page, clicked on the Tools tab, and then clicked on the Redirects item. We then chose which type of redirect we wanted to use and entered the URLs for the old and new locations for the redirect. Once the URLs were entered, we clicked “Add Redirect” to save the changes. This process should take around 10 minutes to complete.
To help make the process easier, we recommend using a plugin such as the Redirection plugin. This plugin will allow you to easily set up both permanent and temporary redirects and provides a detailed log of all redirects you have created.
